It is difficult to maintain the stark white look if not cleaned regularly. And, you have to keep it clean, to make it look the same pure white for ages. This is because if you skip cleaning for one or two days, dust may pile up and generally it becomes yellowish or reddish. Thus, delivering a dirty look to your kitchen or room.

So, quickly grab a look at the general cleaning tips for white countertops

Prefer using the Right cleaning products

A natural and popular way of cleaning is vinegar and baking soda mix. In two cups of moderately warm water add one cup of vinegar and one tablespoon of baking soda. Then, take a clean mop, dip it in the mixture and use it to clean the white surface. Use it at least once in month. This helps to pull out dirt build-ups from the pores of the surface.
Otherwise, you can also use bleach to clean the surface. But, frequent use of bleach corrodes the surface and makes it rough. But, if there is a white sink in your kitchen, you must always use bleach to clean it. Then rinse the sink with warm water.

Methods to clean up spills

With occasional cleaning using the above methods, routine cleaning is also very important. Use mild dishwashing detergent or a soft soap to clean up normal spills. Also, clean up spills before it dries up. And in case it dries up use a plastic putty knife to scrape it off. Don’t use any hard material or scrubbers and acidic soap, because it brings roughness to the surface.

Avoid direct sunlight and use a chimney

A bright sunny kitchen with white countertops always looks detrimental. But, exposure to direct sunlight regularly can slowly turn the countertops yellow. Always try to use curtains or blinds, windows with tinted glass, to prevent direct sunlight.

When you are cooking, grease particles fly around and they slowly settle on the surface. Thus, imparting a sticky nature to the surface with a blacking layer. It becomes very difficult to clean it. Thus install a chimney or exhaust fan in your kitchen. Thus, chimneys absorb the grease particles, helping to keep your white countertops clean.

To remove blackness or yellowness

Many times, if we leave the white countertops untouched for many days, a layer of dust builds upon them. So, it appears a bit yellowish or blackish. To remove this yellowness, you can follow up on the above methods. But, sometimes, if the layer is too delayed, it becomes permanent on the surface.
