Slate is a fine-grained, layered, homogeneous metamorphic rock that is usually formed from the slate deposits. Slate is mainly composed of mica, chlorite and quartz. Characteristically, rocks can be split into plates that are relatively thinner and break easily. Some tiles polish very well, beautiful, and are less expensive than most other wall and floor coverings. The board has a fine to medium grain surface structure. It gives a very elegant and natural finish to any building or home.
